| Bailey's 6th Birthday Cake |
Yesterday was Bailey's 6th birthday, and I have always made this birthday cake for her, It is dog friendly recipe, with peanut butter and banana, two of her two most favorite foods that we give her. She is definitely a foodie, though. She tried to steal baked goods cooling on the counter, so now I have to put them in the laundry room, out of her reach.

Bailey is also Princess of the Pillows and Blankets. She loves anything soft and cuddly, because we have hardwood floors, throughout the house.
Bailey will be sharing her Birthday cake with the Boxer next door, Duncan, who is her buddy. Even though Duncan is 70 lbs and Bailey is 30 lbs, she gives him a run for his money. and woofs at him all the time. Unfortunately, we don't have a picture of Duncan:( Woof!
1 cup whole wheat flour all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter, I used natural peanut butter
1 ripe, mashed banana
1 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a 8X8 pan sprayed with a nonstick spray for 40 minutes.

ReplyDeleteBailey is absolutely adorable. It must be a good dog's name since its ours too. Of course, ours is diabetic, so this is unfortunately out of the question for her. Don't tell her that you make it for your Bailey, ok? :)

ReplyDeleteChristiane- I won't tell your Bailey, if you don't. I do have a healthy dog bone recipe with only whole wheat flour, baking powder, natural peanut butter, like Smuckers, that doesn't have sugar, and skim milk. I'll e-mail it to you.
Now that is the sweetest post ever. My girlfriend does this for her cats and we have so much fun at her little birthday parties. I love it!

ReplyDeleteMegan- One good thing about Cock-a-poos, is that they don't shed. Any dog bred with a poodle, typically doesn't shed, which is a good thing.
Chef Dennis- It's not too late to make a cake for Lucy. This cake is so easy! or I can send you one for Lucy:)
I feel obligated to do this for our puppies! What a great idea. They would LOVE it! Since I started blogging they've gotten so many treats [aka major fails from the kitchen]... but never anything specifically made FOR them. How sweet!

ReplyDeleteLeanne-I know what you mean by things falling on the kitchen floor. Whenever we cook in the kitchen, Bailey sits and looks at the floor, because inevitably, something will fall.
