Peanut Butter Banana Pupcakes for Bailey and an Award!

Today our dog, Bailey the Wonder Dog, is 7.  I always make her a birthday cake, but I decided to change things up and make her Pup Cakes. These pup cakes have all of Bailey's favorite things; peanut butter, banana, and carrots. I even put a dollop of peanut butter on top of the pup cake to "glue" a mini Milk bone on top. Needles to say she loved them.  She was a little leery of the candle, but once we took the candle off, she inhaled the pup cake in her bowl.  Then she was content.
The pup cakes only have healthy ingredients for dogs, no sugar, or oil, because they are made with natural peanut butter and unsweetened applesauce.  I got 7 pup cakes out of the recipe, so Bailey can share them with her friends.

Peanut Butter Banana Pup Cake
Adapted from Dog Treat Recipe Exchange.com

1 cup whole wheat flour or all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter, I used natural peanut butter
1 ripe, mashed banana
1 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg

 Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) Spray muffin cups with cooking spray.

Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into prepared muffin pan and bake for about 30min, or until pick inserted in pup cake, comes out clean,

May also be made in an 8x8 baking pan.  Bake for about 40 min.

Now I received this lovely award from Elisabeth @Food and Thrift, and I am honored to
be on the company of such fine bloggers.  Thank you, Elisabeth!  I will be passing this along soon.
