17 Candles... Devils Food Cupcakes with Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

Last week I went to my Granddaughter's to celebrate her 17th!!!! birthday.  I can't believe that she is 17!!! I asked her what kind of cupcakes she wanted, and of course she said chocolate.  Here she is with 17 candles on one cupcake!!! We thought that we might have to get the fire extinguisher ready. I adapted the Devils Food Chocolate Cake recipe on Chockylit by adding mini chocolate chip morsels to make them extra chocolaty with chocolate butter cream frosting.  Because these were traveling cupcakes, I left them unfrosted and my Granddaughter and I frosted them when I got there.  She loves to bake, when she has time.  I started baking with her when she was 18 mos. old, so I hope that she's a future foodie!
